Gift Guide | Beauty Junkie

If you have a beauty product lover in your life, getting her a beauty product as a gift is a great idea, especially if it's something she wouldn't normally buy for herself or couldn't afford otherwise. A gift like this is thoughtful, you don't have to worry about whether or not it will fit, and it's relatively easy to poke through her products and make sure she doesn't already have it (as long as you know where she keeps her things). There are so many great gift sets out there on Sephora and Ulta and beyond, so looking at those sites is a great place to get tons of ideas as well, but here are a few things that I think any lady would be lucky to get (and many are near the top of my list!).

Smashbox eye and cheek palette- With 30 eye shadows, 3 blushes, and 1 bronzer, this is a great eye and cheek set for a great value. This would be a wonderful gift for anyone who is a big fan of the Smashbox line, loves to play with eye makeup, or even someone who is looking to get started in makeup. All you would need to finish out a basic makeup kit is a foundation, mascara, eyeliner, and some brushes.

Lorac Pro eyeshadow palette- Everyone and their mom seems to be using this palette (not me, sadly), and it's definitely on my wish list. You get a nice range of shimmery and matte professional quality eyeshadows. This is a great every day palette that will take you from day to night time looks. Again, great for any eye shadow lover and people who like classic, chic looks.

The Tarte of Giving Collector's Set & Travel Bag- If you're shopping for a big Tarte fan or someone who loves natural products, this is an amazing set. It comes with an eyeshadow palette, 8 lip glosses, a mascara, two cheek colors, a face oil, and a brightening eye cream, plus a nice travel bag to carry it all.

MaskCara HAC Pack- Okay, I ordered mine but haven't received it yet, so I can't actually say that this will be great, but Cara is legit amazing so I have confidence in her. This would be a great gift for a subscriber to her blog or a highlight and contouring junky. Since there are only three shades to choose from, chances are you'll get the right one.

Bite Beauty The Lip Kit- If you're shopping for a gal who always wears lipstick, this is a great set. You get four double sided lipsticks (so eight colors in total). Lipstick is one of those things that you have to really love to get through a tube before it melts or goes bad or gets lost, so this is actually great for trying out some new colors.

Stila Best of Kitten Set- This is basically a big ole sparkle kit for a lady who loves sparkle. Enough said.

Build Your Own Makeup Kit: If you have a teen or college student makeup beginner or would like to give more of a variety of products, building your own drugstore makeup kit is also a great way to go. You can see my picks here, and you can also pick your favorite products from the drugstore. Put it in a nice little re-useable box or basket or makeup bag and you have a really stellar gift.

Caudalie Divine Indulgence Set- I got this set for myself back when Sephora was having their 20% off sale for VIB's. I haven't reviewed it because I haven't tried the two other products, but this kit is the same exact price as just the Divine Oil by itself, so it's a great value. the Divine Oil smells absolutely amazing and can be used as a moistrurizer on the skin, to tame flyaway hairs, on the ends of hair to moisturize and prevents split ends, etc. It's a great all-purpose product and it comes in a really nice bottle with a spray nozzle, which makes it really easy to use. I got a sample of the oil in my Birchbox a ways back and when I saw they had a great value set and I had a coupon, I couldn't stop myself from buying it. This would be a great gift for anyone you don't quite know what to buy for or the woman who has everything.

GLAMGLOW Super-MudTM Clearing Treatment- This is definitely a luxury face mask, but it's used by everyone from celebrities to makeup artists to skincare junkies, so your skincare lover or face mask lover will love this.

Aquis Microfiber Hair Towel- This hair towel is supposed to cut hair drying time in half and be super gentle and absorbent, plus dry quickly between uses.

Spasilk 100% Pure Silk Facial Beauty Pillowcase- A good silk pillowcase will reduce hair frizz and bedhead, plus is supposed to help reduce wrinkles, so your skincare lover will appreciate it as well.

Formula X The Twnety-Two Piece Mini Set- Most people will never get to the bottom of a bottle of nail polish before it goes bad, especially if you experiment a lot. This nail polish brand has been making big splashes, and this set of minis is a great way to try it out. The System would also make a great gift. If you're shopping for a nail artist, this is a great set.

A Clarisonic would also be a great gift if she doesn't already have one, just make sure that she'll be able and willing to re-purchase the brush heads, which are pretty expensive.

I mostly focused on kits and palettes in this post because many of them are a really great value and are only available at this time of year. However, getting someone a refill of their favorite product or an individual product they've been wanting to try is a great idea as well. Many of the gift sets in particular are going quickly, so I definitely recommend making your purchases soon. What gifts do you have in mind for the beauty junkie in your life?

Yours Truly, Jen
